Early Release Monday, May 22nd, and Virtual Day May 23rd

Parents,
Irwin County Schools are very excited about playing for the GHSA Class A Division I Baseball State Championship next week. It has been 26 years since Irwin County last played for a state title in baseball. Our team and coaches have worked very hard and we are proud of their accomplishments thus far.

ICHS Baseball will be playing in the State Championship on Monday, May 22 at 5 PM at Georgia Southern University. They will play a double header on Monday. Game 3 (if needed) will be played on Tuesday, May 23 at 12 PM in Statesboro, GA.

Due to this historical accomplishment, Irwin County Schools will have an early release on Monday, May 22 at 12 PM. This will allow parents, staff and students time to attend the game. Tuesday, May 23 will be a virtual day for all students and staff because of the uncertainty of Game 3 and possible late travel.

Kindergarten graduation is still planned for Tuesday, May 23 at 7 PM. Other events originally scheduled for Tuesday have been rescheduled. Each individual school will communicate with parents about the rescheduled events.

Coach Tankersley and the Irwin County Indians invite all staff, students and community members to join them in Statesboro to support the team. Tickets for Monday’s game can be purchased from GoFan.co or at https://gofan.co/app/events/99...

We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we make adjustments in support of our students. Good luck to the Irwin County Indian Baseball Team.

Sincerely,

 Mr. Kerry Billingsley

Superintendent
