State Wrestling Meet

Congratulations to Sam T. and Denzell S....they wrestled their way to 5th place at the State Wrestling Meet last weekend at Duluth....meaning Sam (220) and Denzell (106) are the 5th best wrestlers in Georgia in their weight class of all single A schools.

Spring remediation sessions for the Georgia High School Graduation Tests will be offered February 21-March 15. All study sessions will be Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30 in room 613. The sessions will allow students time to review in all four academic areas.  Students who attend these sessions will be entered into a drawing for various door prizes. Bus transportation is provided.

The GHSGT tests will be given the week of March 19-23 at 8:00 am. The testing schedule will be as follows:

  • Monday-Science
  • Tuesday-Social Studies
  • Wednesday-Math
  • Thursday-English
  • Friday-Makeups

Spring remediation sessions for the End-of-Course Tests (EOCT) will be offered March 19-May 3. All review sessions will be Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30 in room 613. Each day will be designated for a particular subject.

  • Monday-English
  • Tuesday-Science
  • Wednesday-Math
  • Thursday-Social Studies

The EOCTs will be administered on May 3 and 4. Students who attend these sessions will be entered into a drawing for various door prizes. Bus transportation is provided.

In addition to these sessions, test reviews are also available at www.usatestprep.com. Students who do not have username and/or password can see Mrs. Sirmans in the high school office.

 

Irwin County Market Hog Show

Irwin FFA invites you to attend the annual Irwin County Market Hog show.  The show will be held on Tuesday February 21st at 5:00 p.m.  The show will be held in the Gary Tankersley Youth Livestock Pavilion on the campus of the high school. We will have approximately 70 entries in the show this year.  Mr. Warren Beeler from Kentucky will be judging our show.  Mr. Beeler has judged every major show in the country and we are excited to have him in Irwin County.  This show has long been one of the high points of our year and we hope you and others will be able to attend.  We thank you for your support of our program and all we try to do.

The 1-877-SAY-STOP toll- free hotline was created by the Georgia Department of Education.
Students can anonymously report anyone who has a weapon, has threatened to bring a weapon to school, or has violated any other school safety rules.
The hotline hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; after 5 p.m. all calls will be forwarded to the GA Bureau of Investigation.
Callers will not be asked to reveal their identities.
